Week 1 Team Introduction and Team Bonding

ICPD is also known as Introduction to Chemical Product Design. It is a module that will develop learners with an aptitude for chemical product design. It will require our team to conceive and design a chemical product.

The team consists of Kieran, Anwar, Nick and Xavier. Our team name is Team KANX (pronounced "cans").

Team Introduction
Team member 1: My name is Nick, and I like reading comics, music and video games.
Team member 2: My name is Kieran, and I like playing sports and watching TikToks during my free time.
Team member 3: My name is Xavier, and I like trying new things.
Team member 4: My name is Anwar, and I like watching and playing football.

Team Rules
  • Contribute actively online and offline
  • Complete and submit all our work on time
This blog is for us to track and update our progress weekly to ensure that we are making sufficient progress for each week.

Since we are a new team, we decided to do some activities together as a group to form a team bond between members.

Practical 2

For Practical 2, we have been tasked to complete the air pump challenge at home due to COVID-19. Background information An air lift pump is used to lift water from one location to another using compressed air. Liquid enters from one end of the pump (inlet), while a mixture of air and water discharges from the other end (outlet). The compressed air is mixed with water. Since the density of air is lower than that of water, the air will quickly rise to the top. As the water mixes with air, the density of water decreases, as the density of the air and water mixture is lower than the density of pure water.
